Mmmm! I love the smell and taste of vanilla, think vanilla, think vanilla latte or vanilla ice cream, in fact vanilla has been used in many different ways throughout history. And so too can the Dirty Vanilla Kit with its softly muted and slightly shabby toned backgrounds and fun and funky original elements this kit is sure to be a winner for those everyday scrap layouts and special photos.

Autumn in New Zealand

Living on the North Island of New Zealand means we don't get the clear definition of summer/autumn that many northern hemisphere people do. That is something I miss about my native England, the beautiful spectacle of the red and gold’s of autumn, we have a temperate climate and we are blessed with the lush greens of a semi tropical island with the odd deciduous tree here and there. Our South Island is much more akin to the northern hemisphere, Christchurch is a beautiful city in the fall and also Greymouth, they also get heavy snow - brrrr, that's when I'm glad I live in Auckland.

These photos were taken at Waiheke Island in May, just into our Autumn at the Auckland Waiheke Island Retreat Crop. As you can see, still very green but with the rosy glow of sun set.

My Kits for October 2008

Why not head out to the orchard and pick this fresh and Sweet As Apple Pie Kit with its granny smith greens and warm pinks of sun ripened apples, the colour theme it sure to be a winner. The shabby and charming textured backgrounds add to the appeal of the pretty and feminine elements to make this kit ideal for all those special women/girls in your life.
Also seen here is the Add On Pack not yet in the shop.

Bright blues and shabby browns define the tones of the
Windermere Kit, the colours bring back memories of visits to the Lake District of my native England. A touch of glitz and paper give this kit an elegant yet homely feel, perfect for any type of photos. Also seen here is the Windermere Add On Pack now in the shop.

The soft greens and shades of cinnamon of the
Autumn Splendor papers are richly textured, perfect for scrapping the bountiful blessings of Autumn. Paper frames, ripe juicy apples and an iridescent butterfly that will give your pages the accent that makes people look twice. Also seen here is the Autumn Splendor Add On Pack now in the shop.

Distressed and Grungy Overlays

These Distressed and Grungy Overlays and cut-outs add another dimension to your Layout, they are perfect for adding that unique touch. Try different blend modes, re-colour, erase parts or add a style to lift that background to another level. Use the cut-out by selection and inserting a background into the reversed overlay and pop a different background under it for some stunning effects. Have fun with these, let your creative juices flow.

My Kits for September 2008

The inspiration for the Trade Winds Kit  and its Add On Pack came from my recent holiday in Fiji.

One of my favourite authors is Jane Austen, the Darcy Kit  and its Add On Pack celebrates her Pride and Prejudice novel.

I love the old movie Pollyanna with Hayley Mills and wanted to create something fun and funky and so Sweet Pollyanna was born together with its Add On Pack.

Labour Weekend October 25 to October 27 2008

Last weekend was Labour Weekend for us here in New Zealand, which means we get to have a day off work on the Monday. We decided to stay and do our tripping about local in Auckland as the weather forecast wasn't good. After my Erica's Everyday Events chat with the lovely ladies at DSP it was 2pm my time, so we just went to the Howick Club, Ian was the President of this club for the past 3 years but has now retired from it, we still enjoy going there for a meal and they have some great events for young and old alike, Lee loves playing on the jungle gym there.

Here is a layout of him playing using my new kit Dirty Vanilla.
